Breastfeeding - Pros and Cons

Breastfeeding; Pros and Cons

·         Every time he feeds he is bonding with me
·         He is getting all of my anti-bodies and his body is learning to fight bugs and germs
·         It’s all natural
·         It’s free
·         It’s always available
·         It comes out at just the right temperature
·         Fewer illnesses when he is older
·         Less chance of developing eczema (I have always suffered with it, so hopefully he won’t!
·         Lowers my risk of getting some cancers.
·         I am 2 stone lighter (Nearly 2.5 thanks to Slimming world) than I was when I got pregnant, as breastfeeding naturally uses up to 500 extra calories per day!

·         You are the person who feeds him, so night feeds can be hard and tiring
·         Your boobs leak, you can rarely take your bra off.
·         Your boobs hurt when filling up (Not unbareable though!)
·         I don’t enjoy feeding in public.
·         It doesn’t stop trapped wind!!! Trapped wind and colic are, apparently 2 different things.
·         He eats what you eat!
·         You can’t drink, and if you do, you have to express it and dump it (Seems like a waste, I have had 1 drink in 10 months!)

Easy peasy? Nope!

Is being a Mum easy? No is the answer!

If you’re reading this because you want to start a family and want to know if you could cope or not, you could cope, of course you could. Because it is rewarding. You love your little baby more than anything in the world and if anyone tries to take that away from you, you would probably go to prison. (HA!) However, is it easy? No!
I am currently into my 7th week of motherhood. I went from a party lifestyle, doing what I wanted, smoking cigarettes, spending my money on what I wanted etc etc and now I am missing out on sleep, wearing sensible shoes, not drinking (this is because I am breastfeeding though!) quit smoking (I am glad about that) Spending most my money on Thomas and living off coffee!
Thomas is currently feeding every 4 hours and he isn’t yet sleeping through the night. My friends’ baby is though!
Being a mum is a 24 hour job
You have the quickest showers in the world.
Your house will never be as tidy as you want it to be.
The washing basket is never empty and your washer is always on the go.
You’re not that bothered how you look when you leave the house (although I do try and make an effort most days.)
You’re constantly worrying about things.
You inhale your food. Meal times will never be the same until he can eat solids.
Babies cry – A LOT!
People expect you still to be super woman!
You can’t tell someone you will be there at 10am… because in reality, you won’t!

These are just a handful of things that I have experienced. I love it, I wouldn’t change it for the world but if you reckon babies are an easy way out not to go to work or whatever, think again because they aren’t!

It is, however, extremely rewarding!
Good Luck!

Easy accessible all in ones.. and the ones I dont find helpful!

The best suits for easy access…

It’s all very fine and dandy wanting to dress your baby up in awesome, cute looking little outfits but babies don’t have any neck strength and some outfits are super hard to dress them in. Especially if it is your first baby, you’re extra careful!

I find the best all in one suits are; ones that are similar to these. Next are really good with them especially the ones with the buttons down the front, and they all have integrated scratch mittens, which are a brilliant help because trying to keep scratch mittens (and socks for that matter) on Thomas is hard as he is still in first size clothes at 4 weeks.

I find the most difficult suits to dress baby in are ones similar to these; (I have been bought the ‘My Mummy makes me smile as a gift though but it is 0-3 and it’ll be easier to dress him in once he has the neck strength)

Basically, try and get the suits with the most buttons on, so there is enough acess to dress him quickly and it is easy access to change nappies etc!

I have used next website as I find these the better all in one suits, I love next. I am in no way slating the company because the clothes are lovely!
